LSFD has been collecting bids from numerous contractors across the state for the new engine bay. Once the numbers are collected, discussed, and a contractor is finalized, work on the new bay will begin.
A SCOTT SCBA representative will be visiting the station in the upcoming weeks to deliver the new SCBA’s for the department, and will be putting on a training for all volunteers to familiarize them with the new SCBA packs. Volunteers will get the chance to put on the new SCBA’s and see how they function and differ from the older versions.
LSFD burned the green waste site for the first time this year, with no complications. There is now room for more pine needles and branches for those in the community who are still cleaning up their properties. The burn site will continue to be open for the next few weeks, up until the weather begins to shift into hotter and drier conditions for fire season.
